Issue Position

Similar to my heritage, Leominster has a rich multi-ethnic background that must be embraced. My ancestors worked hard to immigrate to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. This tradition needs to be embraced; however some people are taking advantage of our great country without taking the necessary steps towards legal immigration. Our Massachusetts legislature has recently decided to allocate taxpayer money to provide additional benefits to people living here illegally -- money that could be better spent on programs to assist our elderly, to help veteran services, or to improve our schools.

Even more egregious, many illegal aliens are committing crimes against Massachusetts citizens. As a first priority, I will fight for programs like Secure Communities to be put in place to protect our neighbors from illegals who commit crimes against Massachusetts citizens. We must then control the benefits the legislature gives to illegals, while simultaneously helping individuals who are working diligently to become American citizens by legal means.
